We, the Albert Ponsel GmbH & Co. KG, are a traditional family business from Upper Franconia (a part of Bavaria) which has evolved into one of the best-established companies in the manufacturing of upholstery furniture over the last 90 years.

Due to our development, Realisation and environmentally friendly production of upholstery – which happens exclusively and completely in Germany – we are able to successfully keep up with the market. Needless to say, this is only made possible by our qualified, long-term staff who contribute to the success of Ponsel with their engagement. Key to our company is the owner-managed and highly familiar corporate policy.

Owner-managed means in this case: Harald Welsch together with his daughter Sabine Faber as well as her husband Axel Faber. Together we are, concerning the team of Ponsel, well positioned to lead this traditional company into the future.

Via the manufacturing of an armchair, we will show you the day-to-day routine at Ponsel. You will be able to see in detail how many production steps really are needed to have one of our finished and high-quality pieces of upholstery in the end. This is only possible if structures and procedures are executed well. Due to the short production distances and short chain of command, we are able to produce everything 100 % made in Germany here in Weidhausen, Upper Franconia.

A look into the production of upholstery at Ponsel and it is clear to see that upholstering and sewing is a real craftmanship. No technology can replace these manual skills. Only because of them, a sofa or an armchair can be created precisely and on an individually basis.

However, not only the hands of the upholsterer play a large role, but his modern know-how does as well. In the right combination, a piece of furniture can be manufactured step-by-step and with love for details.
